  • HB 2026. "Any Willing Provider" legislation prohibiting discrimination against an licensed pharmacy willing to accept reasonable contract terms offered by the Managed Care providers. Passed and signed by the Governor.
  • HB 2463. Legislation providing that machinery and equipment used in the production of cement is personal property and not real property. Saved my client $4M annually in property taxes. Passed and signed by the Governor.
  • Substitute for HB 2024. The Roofing Contractor Registration Act designed to deal with our-of-state, storm-chasing roofing contractors. Passed. Signed by the Governor.
  • HB 2772. Allowing a casino to be built in Southeast Kansas. Passed and signed by the Governor.
  • SB 91. The Wind Energy Compromise. Made the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) a goal, not a requirement; said that after January 1, 2017, renewables will receive a 10-year property tax exemption instead of a "life of the project" exemption; and finally that renewable generators will begin to pay property tax it will be at the at the commercial rate or 25% not the public utility rate of 33%. Passed and signed by the Governor.
  • Won approval of legislation to restore the sales tax exemption for custom computer software, a measure which was worth upwards of $20M annually to Sprint. Passed and signed by the Governor.
